Cookies!

By Nathalie...I find great comfort in the sheer 80s-ness of the presentation, which also might or might not involve a C-64.

This book is no longer in print, as far as I can tell, but you can find used (or 'vintage') copies on Amazon.

Queen Elizabeth Cake

In the middle of it all, I found this mimeographed recipe (perhaps made on a ditto machine? That purple reminds me of my old school days for sure.) for Queen Elizabeth Cake. Provenance unknown, it still seems like a good idea. And it must have been good indeed, for someone to take the time to do the prep work necessary to copy this! Does anyone else remember Gestetners? Anybody? <crickets>

I am presenting it here, in hopes that someone will make it and let me know how it turns out.

Unappetizing appetizers

Among my collection is a book I think was a subtle hint from someone to my mother about entertaining. Rest assured, she ignored that broad hint in an impressive way.
No wonder, this book makes me want to drink...and frankly, having one or two down-range makes some of the titles even more suggestive than they appeared at first glance. Or maybe I just get an immature giggle at the Spread-Your-Owns (which sounds like a smut shop to me).
The fonts are still cool though.
